Customer Reviews

After trying several other high end corded headsets, the TB Z6A is by far the best I've owned. Sound quality is amazing and the mic works great. Out of 10 points, with 10 being the highest I would rate this headset as follows:
In-game sound = 10 (MW3 sound is awesome!)
Music sound = 10 (pleasantly suprised)
5.1 Surround Sound = 10
Control Unit = 9 (works great but it's a little too close to the headset and requires you to clip it onto yourself)
Microphone = 10 (someone else mentioned it would be nice if it was detachable, I disagree. It folds up easily and the fancy SoundBlaster headset I had with the detachable mic failed at that connection)
Comfort = 9 (design keeps ears cool; I'm not really sure a 10 exists)
Pro's - SOUND!, cool ears
Con's - control pod is too close to the headset. You have to actually clip it to your pocket as opposed to having it sit on your desk. Adding another 12" of cord between the headset and pod would help.
Bottom line...I would highly recommend this headset!

My husband got these headphones to replace the Speedlink Medusa set he had that broke for the last time. He says that the bass is better than the Speedlinks but the directionality of the surround sound isn't nearly as good. Not to say that its bad, its just not as good. He thinks how the speakers are positioned in the cups is the difference.
The sound is very good though, and for someone with bad hearing they function great.
The only real problem he and I have with them is that the padding around and inside the ear cups (nice TB logo etched into the foam btw) bleeds dye when they get even slightly damp. He got and still gets rings around his ears and dye on his ears when he wears them for any length of time. He games a lot. He took the the pads off and washed them repeatedly in mild dish soap and they bled and bled and bled turning the water a bluish black then finally a gray. After about 15 soak, squeeze, and rinse repetitions, the water was nearly clear but they still leave blue black rings around his ears. Kind of a pain if he has to go somewhere and takes off the headphones and heads out only to have me or someone else ask him what that stuff on and around his ears is. He has to wash his head and ears after using them for long periods.
You'd think that the dye for the earpads, knowing that they would probably get sweaty, would be colorfast.
